Local Conservatives Run Ignorant Campaigns, Part Two.


OMAHA , NE – Now we have Do Nothing Lee Terry, in my second installment of Local Conservatives Run Ignorant Campaigns.  Do Nothing Lee Terry, hasn’t done much more than name a post office while in office. There is also the number of votes he made that supported policies that added $10 trillion to our nation’s debt, but who’s counting?  Not Omaha or Sarpy County voters apparently. American voters apparently have short term memories. Lee Terry has complained about Obama doing nothing in office.  The truth is Lee Terry has been in office longer than Barack Obama and has contributed $10 Trillion of the debt.  Lee Terry has voted for such things as Medicare part D, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and the costly Bush Tax cuts. All without legislation to help pay for them. Then there is this even more annoying enigma, the Obama-Terry voter. YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG!!!! For god sakes, quit voting for Lee Terry just because your son walked by his son in the school cafeteria! Act like an adult when you vote!!!  LOL No wonder Washington, DC, is so messed up!

The other day Lee Terry was called out for lying about what John Ewing has done as Douglas County Treasurer.  I’m not surprised about Lee Terry putting out wrong information. It is only natural as a Republican that he would fall in line with the top of the GOP ticket, Mitt Romney. The Real Romney told 27 lies in the 1st Debate.  Lee Terry has consistently denied he voted for a Medicare part D Plan that was completely unpaid for. Why do we keep voting this guy in?  VOTE Lee Terry OUT for change!!!

Anti-LGBT Petition in Full Swing!


OMAHA, NE – The once looming anti-LGBT Petition drive is now officially in active pursuit of signatures. According to the OWH, the petitions to overturn Omaha’s recently enacted LGBT workplace protections ordinance are now being distributed.

Executive Director of the Omaha Liberty Project, Patrick Bonnett, told the OWH, “We’re confident we’ll get the signatures fairly rapidly. ”  Patrick wrote this letter to the churches participating, see it here.  The petitioners need 11,400 signatures, less than half what was needed to initiate a recall against Mayor Jim Suttle.

Regardless, the effort to remove protections to one group of people, the same protections granted to all Americans, seems pointless. Especially coming from a group calling themselves the Omaha Liberty Project, run by people constantly screaming about their rights to force religion down everyone else’s throats. On top of that, Christians go to church because they are sinners. Churches used to help the hungry and the homeless, now they fight to rob you of your birthrights.   I’d like to say there is already so much sin within the church community itself, where do they get off telling others who aren’t in their own community, that they can’t be protected from harassment, discrimination or persecution because we Queers are sinning? We will have to wait until the second coming to even hear the excuse why homosexuality is the sin above all others that deserves all the hatred, discrimination and even death.  Nevermind, that 501c3 organizations aren’t supposed to play major parts in politics.

I’d like to plan a few rallies and call-ins to make sure that potential petition signers know that their information will become public information under Nebraska law if they sign. In the meantime, perhaps it time to discuss making these so called religious organizations pay their fair share?

Tax the Churches!

Anti-LGBT Petitioners To Use Churches and Their Facilities.


OMAHA, NE – Anti-LGBT petitioners will be depending greatly on local churches to do their evil anti-LGBT dirty work. Surprised? This is the text from the letter sent to an unknown number of churches. I suspect its the same churches behind Nebraska Heritage Coalition.

Here is the Letter:

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your continued support and for your patience as we continue to organize our Petition Circulator teams. In an effort to keep you all in the loop, we wanted to give you a brief update on recent activities:

Status of the Petition:

We have submitted our final version of the Petition to be reviewed and approved by the Omaha City Council Clerk, Buster Brown. Mr. Brown along with Counsel from the Omaha City Law Department is giving our Petition that final review and we expect to hear back from them tomorrow, October 2, with any formatting changes. Some additional jurisdictional issues are also being worked out between the Douglas County Election Commissioner and the City of Omaha and we hope to have Petitions available for distribution at the end of the week. You may soon hear that we will need 11,419 valid signatures; although true, our goal is much higher and we will need everyone’s focused efforts to ensure success.

Church Liaisons:

If you have not already done so, please designate a point of contact for your church or organization and notify me at the address below so that our Church Liaison Coordinators may coordinate circulator activities. All Church Liaisons are asked to recruit Circulator Team Members, Notary Publics and other Volunteers.

Petition Circulator Training:

A big thanks to everyone who may have participated in our Circulator Training sessions so far! These sessions have been a valuable exercise to help volunteers know what to expect as they go forth to circulate the petitions. We will continue to hold brief training sessions throughout the month of October during the actual Petition Drive every Tuesday and Thursday evening at our Activity Center located at 1065 North 115th Ct., Ste. 120, Omaha, NE 68154. This week we will host two additional training meetings at Covenant Presbyterian to help kick-off the Petition Drive. If you have not already done so, please plan to attend one of these very important sessions.

Thursday, October 4 5:30 PM or 7:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 15002 Blondo Street Omaha, NE 68116 (150th & Blondo Streets – north side) Petitions are available and will be distributed there.

Sunday: October 7th – Supportive Pastors will Preach from the Pulpit on Moral Sexual Behavior, Freedom of Religious Speech, and related issues. Our teams will gather Petition Signatures before and after Services.

Voter Registration:

Congratulations to all for a super job well done!!! Our September Voter Registration Drive was a massive success. Registrations for Douglas County are peaked and we are setting a record for the number of Early Ballot Application Request Forms returned to the Election Commissioner’s office. Today, over 33,000 early ballots were mailed out. Please continue to have Voter Registration forms available during the Petition Drive. We will distribute Early Ballot Application Forms for the City Spring Primary and General Elections throughout the month of October.

Media & Messaging:

Please refrain from speaking on behalf of the Nebraska Heritage Coalition or the Omaha Liberty Project. Our official spokesperson, Dr. Jim Eckman will make all authorized statements to members of the Media. You however, are of course free to speak for yourselves, your churches or other organizations you may be so tasked to represent. We will be featured in many Public Service Announcements throughout the month of October. Our sole aim at this point in time is to simply give the people of Omaha the opportunity to vote on this very important issue.

Local Conservatives Run Ignorant Campaigns, Part One.


OMAHA, NE – From the Congressional races to the Omaha’s Mayoral race, conservatives run a campaign based on ignorance counting on the ignorant for votes.  Jean Stothert has been running a campaign full of huge lies, ranging from Mayoral vs City Council spending, Fire Union Contracts and now Wheatfields and their bitching about what they call the Mayor’s tax. What is really upsetting is this business isn’t even paying the tax, they charge their customers.  Wheatfields has endorsed Jean Stothert for Mayor, supporting her over Suttle over a tax they don’t even pay. Here is an excerpt from their letter Stothert’s campaign sent out to supporters:

“For over 12 years, we have been serving you and your family at Wheatfields.  In fact, serving customers here in Omaha has been our life, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
But lately, running a business is harder than ever.  Unfortunately, our government, and many of our elected leaders, have become a big part of the problem, heaping on new and higher taxes with ever-expanding regulation.
That’s why, when Mayor Suttle proposed a new tax levied only on restaurant customers, we took a stand.  Ever since that new tax passed, every receipt at Wheatfields clearly displays the “Mayor’s Tax.”  We believe customers have a right to clearly see just one of the many burdens that big-spending politicians place on all of us.
Today, we’re taking another stand.  This time, for a leader we know will put us on a better path.  Today, we’re endorsing Jean Stothert for Mayor.
And to show how much we believe in Jean, we’ve decided to show our support in a unique way – from now until the city elections, we will be serving Wheatfields’ signature coffee in these “Jean Stothert for Mayor” mugs.
Jean knows a vibrant economy comes from hard-working citizens and successful businesses, not more government spending.  That’s why we hope you will join with us in supporting Jean.”
And there you have it, more complete BS supporting Stothert’s campaign.  How can a business even complain about a tax they don’t even pay.  They charge EVERY single customer that comes through that so called Mayor’s Tax!  Hypocrits!! Jean Stothert is running her campaign like she spearheaded movement on the Council, an emerging disaster.  Moody’s has lowered the city’s general obligation bond rating from Aaa to Aa1 due to Omaha’s “persistent under-funding of its pension obligations.” Mayor Suttle negotiated a Fire Contract that would have solved the city’s pension issues, but Jean Stothert and other members of the City Council skewered the Fire Contract and the Mayor’s negotiation power the moment they had the chance. The City Council is now responsible for all Union negotiations, and Jean Stothert chair the committee that oversees those negotiations, as well as hiring an outside negotiator.  Heaven forbid that any Council members do the job themselves, like the Mayor did.
Jean Stothert has said that she wants to bring Omaha back together, which is ironic, because she is the most divisive politician in City Hall since Hal Daub.  Remember Jean Stothert initial campaign announcement? Here’s a pic of her misspelled name from that very announcement! LOL Talk about an emerging disaster.

In Nebraska, Petition Signatures are Public Record!


OMAHA, NE – Attention all bigots who intend to sign the Anti-LGBT Petition! Remember the Suttle Recall? All those names that signed in support of recalling Suttle got their asses published on the internet for all to see! LOL I can’t wait to see who the real bigots are in Omaha when this latest petition drive is over. Whether or not enough signatures are gathered to force a ballot vote doesn’t matter, those signature will be public information!!!   Let’s see those Anti-LGBT Petition signers get posted on the internet.  AND YES! IT IS LEGAL!! ITS CALLED TRANSPARENCY IN POLITICS FOOLS!! LMAO!!   UPDATE: And here is the link to the Nebraska Statute that says so!

Its interesting how so many people maybe quick to jump on the bandwagon of a popular petition idea, but are completely ignorant of what the process entails.  For your information, when you sign a petition in Nebraska your signature and the information you provided is now public record! Remind your bigoted friends and family members that petition signatures are public under Nebraska Law.  Don’t believe me?   Then look at this gem of an article by the Omaha World Herald explaining why they published the names of Suttle Recall Petition Signers.  So if you hear anyone bragging about how they want to sign this petition, this is a great talking point! Tell them, “Your bigoted ass and personal info is gonna be published on the internet!” And if they don’t believe you. Remind them about the Suttle Recall Petitioners.

To all Homophobic Bigots.

Homophobia: The fear that gay men are going to treat you the way you treat women and that a lesbian will treat your woman better than you do!

I’m very angry about the petition situation, and I am sure others are too!  But it is NOT a hopeless situation. We can beat the petition, by informing people that this petition drive wants to take the protections away from one group of people. Who will they go after next?  Remind potential petition signers that their info will be public record in Nebraska. and anyone will have access to that info.  Once again, by Nebraska law, access to that petition information is a RIGHT!!   And to stay ahead of ALL political ball games by REGISTERING TO VOTE, and getting our friends and family to register as well. It doesn’t matter if you register Democrat, Republican, Independent or Green Party,  just get registered and you will be ready to VOTE against this thing if it makes it to the city ballot in the spring!

P.S. Has anyone heard from that exclusive, all-white male circle jerk known as Equal Omaha or Equal Nebraska? Perhaps they should consider being as inclusive as they expect others to be.
