It is ObamaCare, because Obama cares!

OMAHA, NE – Early in the Healthcare debate, healthcare opponents referred to HealthCare reform as Obamacare to derogatorize it. I prefer to call it Obamacare because Obama cares. It says something when a certain group of people are so afraid of healthcare reform they named it after the face of their fear, a black man.

Despite the false comments about Obamacare, millions of American are currently enjoying its true benefits.  Americans up to the age of 26 can remain on their parents health insurance, a powerful provision that protects millions of young Americans, while putting millions of dollars in the the coffers of HealthCare Reform, helping to bring down the cost of health insurance.

A breast cancer survivor asks her state attorney general to drop lawsuit against Obamacare. Without Obamacare, she could be rejected by insurance companies for preexisting conditions. Another benefit for women is the provision in the Affordable Healthcare Act help insure women will be able to get access to treatment for other health issues.

In a recent speech at the first-ever White House LGBT Health Conference, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius noted, “The Affordable Care Act may represent the strongest foundation we have ever created to begin closing LGBT health disparities.”  Obama’s HealthCare Reform is his signature accomplishment for his first term, and while Obamacare is not the final word on healthcare reform it does provide the LGBT Community some great benefits, including coverage of preventative care, date collection on LGBT health, and Patients’ Bill of Right’s.

And despite the GOP’s rhetoric about HealthCare Reform killing business, there is much reason to show its helping businesses now including companies that perform diagnostic tests.  Although many companies in the Health Insurance industry oppose the law, many are looking to it as a source of new business.  You would think businesses would benefit from it at a labor standpoint, after all a healthy American is a hard working American.  The benefits to Obamacare are numerous, there is no excuse to get rid of it.
